COMPANY INTRODUCTION
Company Founder Mr. YY Chan has since 1972 been involved in the marine equipment sales and after sales business, and is, therefore, extremely knowledgeable in the areas of marine propulsion engines, marine transmissions, hydraulics products, and other marine equipment, both technically and commercially.
Smooth Marine was founded on July 1, 1981, and has since been headquartered in Hong Kong. The company was set up to become the Hong Kong/Macau distributor for the Twin Disc (USA) and Nico (Niigata, Japan) marine transmission products. The company's after-sales services provided to the market, the technical expertise, and sales performance have all contributed to winning the recognition of the market, and the company won, amongst 160 plus worldwide Twin Disc distributors and dealers, the 1991 Twin Disc award for outstanding performance.
In 1992 the company entered yet a new era and put in investment on land and infrastructure, building in Zhongshan an after-sales service facility with full equipment intended as a springboard for penetration into the China market, eventually leading to the building of the Macau, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Tianjin companies and representative offices, providing vertically integrated support in pre-sale, sales and after-sales services. All facets of the company have since won high recognition of the market.
After 20 plus years of vigilant and diligent market development, Smooth Marine today covers extensive market and customer segments, including: Government Patrol Boats, Marine Police Vessels, Fire Fighting Vessels, Tug Boats, Cargo Vessels, Oil Barges, Fishing Vessels, Transportation Vessels, Ferries, pleasure craft and Bombardier Recreational Products. Smooth Marine today is a reputable company as recognized in the Hong Kong, Macau and China marine industry.
Product range includes: Marine Transmission, Arneson Surface Drive, jet propulsion systems, electronic and remote control systems, torque converter, clutches, hydraulic rudders, fishing winches, hydraulic anchor winches, high pressure hoses and fittings and other marine equipment. At the same time the company is in possession of a strong service team to provide quality service, training and technical support to customers.
Smooth Marine's outstanding performance has won the recognition of both our customers and our suppliers, and in October 2001 won the China distribution rights for Bombardier Recreational products, including: SEA-DOO watercraft, SEA-DOO sports boats, Bombardier-ATVs, SKI-DOO, and JOHNSON and EVINRUDE outboard marine propulsion engines, together with merchandized products such as water sports attire. Continued dedication to the recreational products industry and reputation in the marine community together won the day in 2006 when Smooth Marine secured distribution rights in China for Montery pleasure craft; products include Sport Boats, Deck Boats, Supersport Boats, and Cruisers and Sport Yachts ranging from 18 feet to 41 feet. And the latest addition in November 2007 to Smooth Marine’s product range were Sunseeker’s Yachts, Flybridge Motoryachts, Performance Motoryachts, and Sport Cruisers ranging from 11m to 37m. This recognition from international manufacturers is both a result of, and a reward to the consistent dedication of all Smooth Marine staff to the business.
