July 4, 2007: For the first time the Cultural and Leisure Services Department of the HK SAR Government is using the Sea-Doo GTI Watercraft to aid in rescue operations, especially during periods of choppy waves during the day and in taiphoon seasons. Delivered with the watercraft are tailor-made aluminum alloy trailer and surfing board custom-made for rescue purposes. All test results meet the expectations of the authorities, including performances at top speed, at speeds at different engine RPM, during curve eights at high speeds, in emergency stop at high speed, and in capsizing. This is also the first time the Government is using a 4-stroke engine in a watercraft.
